Closure Plans- Sperling Hansen Associates proposed completing the closure of a 30,000 m2
area to minimize air intrusion into the gas collection system and reduce the
leachate mound within the landfill. - Waste will be placed on the closure area, any future leachate will be contained
and removed from the footprint to minimize leachate mounding. - Lateral landfill gas collection pipes were installed behind the closure / liner
system. - A multi-functional surface water collection ditch and leachate collector were
installed at the toe of the closure / liner system.
