Office Manager & Civil Technologist
Scott Garthwaite began work with SHA in May, 2007 as a Civil Technologist. His main responsibilities include Construction Management, Project Management, Landfill Design & Surveying, Material Management and Costing, Senior QA/QC Inspections and Drafting. He works as a team member on a number of projects such as Design and Operations Plans, Closures, AutoCad Design Drawings, and Annual Monitoring Reports. Scott has played a key role in the design, expansion, and closure of over 20 Landfills throughout B.C. Scott is SHA’s lead QA/QC personnel for synthetic cap and liner installation/construction works, which recently have included work in the oil & gas and mining sectors.
Scott has gained his construction experience throughout B.C. at numerous landfill sites, some of which include; Salmon Arm, Fernie, 7-Mile (Port McNeil), Terrace, Mission Flats (Kamloops), Gibraltar (Williams Lake), Hope, Cranbrook, Campbell Mountain (Penticton), Fort St. John, Vancouver, Creston and Squamish. Of special interest, over the past 5 years, Scott has been an instructor at the SWANA B.C. Qualified Landfill Operator Courses (BCQLO).
